Apply for an Internship

“We are collectively caught in an intricate, delicate web in which each action I take, discursive or otherwise, pulls on, breaks off, or maintains the tension in many strands of the web in which others also find themselves moving. When I speak for myself, I am constructing a possible self, a way to be in the world, and am offering that, whether I intend to or not, to others, as one possible form of existence.”

- Linda Martín Alcoff, “The Problem of Speaking for Others.”

Apply for an Internship

Bloggers Needed: Because keeping our conversations going in civil ways is a central goal of the GriffinHarte Foundation, we invite applications for blogging internships from individuals who would like to share their perspectives, experiences, and research with others. Blogging internships last for three months, and the expectation is approximately twelve (12) blogs per internship. Posts must be civil, grounded in research as well as experience and opinion, and designed to stimulate conversation and thinking about feminisms, race and ethnicity, sexuality, identities, and education. To apply for a blogging internship, please send the following to Cindy at

  1. A statement of the approach and perspective you would take as a blogger for the GriffinHarte Foundation, including your approach to civility as we communicate about complex issues.
  2. A description of the topic or topics about which you would blog as an intern, including a statement regarding the approaches to civility you will use as you would address them.
  3. A copy of your vita or resume.
  4. The names and contact information for three references.
